Blogger

1) Go to http://www.blogger.com
2) Sign in with TCC.Distance.Learning and the password that you can ask me for
3) Click "Create a blog" to create a new blog for each class
4) In the Blogger Title Section, type the course ID
5) In the Blog address(URL) text box, put the course ID
6) Click "Continue"
7) Choose the template
8) Click "Start Posting"
9) Select "Settings"
10) Select "Email"
11) In the "Mail to Blogger" section, enter the course ID
12) Click "Save Settings"

Blackboard

1) Log into Blackboard as Admin
2) Go to the System Admin Panel
3) Select "Users"
4) Select +User
5) Enter information for a new user
  • First name BloggerTwitter
  • Last name is the course ID. Example: A569999
  • Email will be different for each course and will use the email that you will set up with Blogger.(See later instructions on Blogger) Example: TCC.Distance.Learning.A569999@blogger.com
  • Username is the course ID
  • Password is: What are you kidding me? You think I am going to post the password here? If you are staff, you can email me. You know who I am.
6) Add the manually created user to the class that this was created for
7) Go to the "System Admin" panel
8) Select "Courses"
9) Find the course
10) Click "Modify"
11) Select "Enrollments"
12) Click "+ Enrollment"
13) Find the user (it will be the course ID) because this is what we named to user earlier in these steps
14) Select "Submit"


Twitter

1) Go to http://www.twitter.com/
2) Select "Join for free"
3) Enter the course ID as the username
3) Password will be the same as Blogger
4) In the email address text box, enter the unique email for the course. To find this, open your address book in Outlook and under the "Show Names from the:" heading, select "Class Distribution Lists"
5) Find the class, select the class, right click on it, select properties, and there you will find the address
6) Type the 2 words in th "Humanness" section
7) Select "I agree. Create my account."

TwitterFeed

1) Log in using the Open ID: http://TCC.Distance.Learning.myopenid.com/
2) Enter the password
3) Select "Create New Twitter Feed"
4) In the twitter name text box, enter the course ID
5) Enter the password
6) In the RSS Feed URL, put the RSS feed from the Blogger account. To get the URL, follow these steps:
  • Go to http://www.blogger.com/
  • Log in
  • Under the Manage Your Blogs Heading, find the class that you wish to do this to
  • Next to the name of the class, click "View Blog"
  • Next to "Subscribe to:" right click on "Posts(Atom)" and select "Copy Link Location"
  • Paste this URL into the TwitterFeed RSS Feed URL
7) Change the "Update Frequency" to "Every 30 minutes"
8) Click "Create"
